Day 6:  Use of Helping Verbs
To make Negative and Interrogative

Look at the tables give below:

You can easily observe that all the sentences except Present Simple and Past Simple (red in colour) contain a helping verbs.

Now you have to understand and learn two rules which enable you to convert them into Negative and Interrogative sentences very easily.

Rule I:

To make negative, put “not” just after the helping verb.
Rule II:
To make interrogative, put the helping verb in the beginning of the sentence and a question mark in the end.

  • Make formula table for all 12 tenses (assertive).
  • Convert 10 tenses to Negative and Interrogative.

THERE ARE 23 HELPING VERBS

is, am, are,
was, were, will, shall,

 If you find any sentence which contains any of these words, you have the same rules of conversion:
i.                   To make negative, put “not” just after the helping verb
ii.                 To make interrogative, put the helping verb in the beginning of the sentence and a question mark in the end.
